Summer Fun Part 5

Zackary might be the t-ball star in our house but Brycen is planning on challenging him on who's the cutest player!!!
Zack is taking swimming lessons this summer and really enjoying himself. He's made great gains in his swimming since the start of the summer from a boy who wouldn't jump in unless you held his hand to someone who'll swim under water half way across the pool!
Having some fun in the park in Mitchell after swimming lessons.
Here's our budding t-ball star in action. The season started off slow and he wasn't real sure about playing but now that they get the bats out every game and play 'real t-ball' he's having a blast and seems to have quite the arm on him too.
Zackary and his friend Meredith enjoyed some time together on a hammock swing on our trip with them. This photo was too cute to pass up!
Brycen has taken to 'ridin the range' in the kitchen lately. He takes his horse for a short gallop and then as soon as the sound effects on the horse stop he drops to the ground on top of it. Poor old horse won't be long for the glue factory I'm afraid LOL!
Beware of shark...or snorkelers looking for them! Zack loved snorkeling in the pool the last time we camped. On Civic Holiday weekend we went up to a friends developing campground near Owen Sound and helped them get their camp ready to open for next season.
Brycen loved the 'trom-pan-nee' and asked to jump morning, noon and night...he never seemed to tire of it and even cried when we took him off for meals!
Zackary also enjoyed the trampoline with his friend Meredith.
At the end of a long weekend the kids enjoyed a movie and a rest in the trailer.

Summer Fun Part 4

We spent most of a week camping at Silver Lake with the Kinsmen and at Auburn Riverside Retreat with our friends the Angst and Nelson families. Zack REALLY enjoyed the pool and even began to swim without his water wings by the end of the week.
Brycen took a bit longer to warm up to the water but by the end of the week he was jumping in and splashing anyone in his way!!!

A serious moment wiht Brycen and Mommy.
The campground even has an Elk paddock and Brycen lived for the 'tracker' and wagon rides to see the 'funny elk'.
Here is one of the fish Zack caught at Silver Lake... he won a trophy for the smallest fish...1.5 inches!!!
Brycen did NOT like the fish and cried most of the time we showed him one...it didn't help that the fish jumped out of Daddy's hand and landed on Brycen!!!
In the week prior to this Brycen hated the water...but he soon got over this and turned into a little fish. He enjoyed splashing and digging in the sand at Silver Lake.
We also got to go for a boat ride with our friend Bill at Silver Lake.
Brycen had never been on a boat before but wasn't really sure if he liked it or not...he did a lot of snuggling with mommy anytime the boat went fast.

Summer Fun Part 3

Hangin out at Papa's, Brycen and Zack got the chance to help Uncle Josh (aka Uncle JuWatch or Crotch) feed the calves. Here they are deciding where to go next.
Jessica came to help them too.
Then it was off to the beach with Grandma, Jessica and mommy.
Brycen loves the sand but not to sure of the water.
Enjoying some juice after a hot day at the beach...wearing matching t-shirts from Uncle Jason and family all the way from Estevan Sask.

Summer Fun Part 2

The boys enjoyed a photo shoot at Papa's place on his tractor. I made a t-shirt for dad for his birthday with this picture of the boys on it but in black and white. This is Brycen's most favourite place to be...on Papas 'tracker'...though Papa is now becoming known as Cramp Pa.
I call this one Peek a boo Brycen. Doesn't it look like something out of the 1940s? This tractor was purchased by my Grandpa Ireland in 1940 and is a Farmall H. My dad fixed it up earlier and it is currently being used in a tractor square dance group done in Teeswater for the International Plowing Match.

The last weekend in June was the World's Invitational Fastball Tournament in Monkton. It is our fifth year hosting this tournament. This year they had a day camp that Zack attended. It is capped off with an autograph signing session with many of the players who hail from places all over North America, South America, Austrailia and New Zeeland.
Zack and Brycen's cousin Jessica was home for a week and spent some time with them and their cousin Mac. Mac is VERY fond of Zackary and tries to kiss him all the time!!!
Father's Day weekend we took our family to our church retreat at Camp Kintail. We enjoyed lots of activities including fun at the beach during the day and a campfire their at night. This is Zack and his buddy Darnell throwing rocks in the lake.

Summer Fun Part 1

Brycen and Zack are super excited about their 'new the them' wading pool although Brycen insisted it was a boat at first!!! They were so happy to find Daddy filing the pool up when they got home today.
Brycen enjoyed playing with his new water wheel toy and was so excited to see that what happened to the water. At first this was all he'd do with the pool... but pretty soon he ended up right inside, soaked and laughing his head off!!!
Ready, set....JUMP!!!!
Zackary and Geoff caught a toad and put it in a bucket. Brycen thought it was a frog and kept jumping around the bucket and yelling 'jump fwoggy, jump'!!!
Zack named the toad 'Toady"...terribly original but cute all the same. He also has a pet snail named...you guessed it, Snaily. So far he hasn't convinced me to bring the pets inside!!!

Happy Birthday Brycen!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brycen!!! Friday was the big day and what fun it was. Zack was just as excited as Brycen about some of his gifts!!!

A new water toy for his 'new to him' wading pool. He wasn't too sure what it was but quickly figured it out once we added water!!!
Brycen got a bubble mower from Aunt Kim, Uncle Drew and his cousins. He's wakes every morning and asks for bubos and it's the first thing he does when he gets home from the babysitters each day. I don't think our lawn has ever been so....clean!!!
Here's our 'twin' boys as Zack calls them in their matching t-shirts. Both boys got them for their birthdays. Don't they look handsome!!!
