Brycen is 4!!!

Brycen was lucky enough to celebrate his birthday this year (again) at Camp Kintail...the Presbyterian Church Camp that is affiliated with our church and where a group from our church spends a work weekend and a retreat weekend each year.

He shared his birthday with one of the camp counsellors...so he shared his cake with her too!

Are you one, are you two, are you three, are you four??? FOUR, yeah FOUR!!!

A birthday kiss from staffer, Flame.

'Mom, Dad, this is the best present EVER!!!! '
A ball glove and new shoes...who knew it was so easy to make someone's day!!!

Opening his birthday present from his godparents, Bill and Cheryl (who is also his babysitter)...a train set! He was so excited and it's been all over the basement floor ever since!

Birthday hugs from Anita!

Birthday hugs from Catharine.

I made an Under the Sea cake...and was rather proud of how well it turned out!

Brycen and his good buddy Austin were born 3 days apart so we celebrate together each year. The boys loved their cake and their party.

Cheese!!!!

Brycen and Austin...two birthday boys happy with all their presents!!!

Brycen finally got to have his friends over for a party 2 weeks after his birthday. He was sure he was turning 5 or maybe 6 since he'd now had cake 3 times!!! The kids decorated their own cupcakes instead of having a birthday cake.

Ah, ah, ah feeeewwwwww!!! Yup, no girlfriends!!!!

Opening presents at his party... this was a car wash...it is lots of fun and makes LOTS of mess!!!

Long overdue updates...welcome summer!!!

It's been a long time since I posted any pictures so here's some updates from late May and June.

In late May we had some warm weather and got out the wading pool. The boys had a great time!!!

Cameron wasn't always so sure of the cold water in the wading pool but with the help of his brothers he had a great time!!!!

Boys in the pool...tons of water in AND out of the pool!!!

Zack decided to try his luck rock climbing at the Camp Kintail Retreat that we attended with our church in early June.

Getting ready to head up!

Zack did great!!!!

Brycen on his first ever kayak ride...he was soooooo excited!!!

The Knox Monkton crew and Kintail staff at retreat 2010.

Mr. Cool Guy Cameron... dressed for dinner as a 50's tough guy!

Zack performed at the talent show. He told some funny jokes...and some not so funny ones. We were proud of our little performer!!!

An Amazing Fundraising Event!

Friday May 28th marked the first (of what I hope is an annual) fundraising event in Cole and Cameron's honour. A lot of work went into the event and some AMAZING donations came in from local businesses. We were completely blown away by the size of our silent auction table...88 items donated plus donations to a kids raffle table.
I'll post pictures first before giving the grand total as it stands right now.

Our event had a Retro Wedding theme...just to add something unique....and we were able to borrow this retro cake from a friend who owns a cake shop. We set up a display of photos of Cameron and Cole and info on our charity, Mt. Sinai Fetal Therapy Program.

Instead of the usual bride and groom cake topper we used one of the sets of these twin figurines from Willow Tree that we were given when Cole and Cameron were born.

And sticking with our retro wedding themed event....here I am with my friend Emily in our wedding dresses. Her's is only 1 week old (congrats Emily and Mark). Mine is almost 10 years old (and 4 kids and a TON of stress later). I was so impressed that it fit!

Zack, our 7 year old, decided that he wanted to raise some money too so he decided that if he could raise $600 he would cut off all his beautiful curls!!!

Well at 9:30 that night he had raised $750 so off came the curls. We had some people who were so moved by this gesture of Zack's (including our amazing DJ) that they kept donating and by the end of the weekend there was $900 in Zack's haircut fund! We are so very proud of our son!!!

Geoff told him that if he raised more than this amount he would let him shave his head!!! Zack LOVED it!

In the end our event, to date, has raised over $3600 and that does not include the online donations that continue to come in to Mt. Sinai in honour of our sons (if you wish to make an online donation click here and chose a card in honour of Cameron and Cole Tummers and it will be credited towards our fundraiser)

Thank you so much everyone for all the amazing support!!!

Photo updates

It's been a long time since I've done any updates so here are a few of the birthday celebrations we had with Zack.

Last weekend we celebrated both Zack and Brycen's birthdays with my family. The boys were VERY excited about their presents!!!

I don't have any great shots of Cameron to post (for once)but we do have a pretty awesome video to show....

We're so excited that he is walking close to the 'normal' time frame. The physiotherapist saw him 2 weeks ago and was very impressed with how well he is doing. She will not see him again till October and will likely discharge him then. Her only concern continues to be the tightness/ lack of full extension in his arms but is hoping it will correct itself. We see an ortho specialist for a minor issue with Brycen's legs/feet in September and she's asked that we have this doctor look at Cameron's arms.
Cameron had tubes put in his ears a week ago and already we are noticing a difference in the amount of echoing and mimicing he is doing now that he can hear properly. He did well with the surgery though he had big problems with agitation after the anesthetic and needed to be sedated in order to for us to manage him...poor little guy! He weighs just over 22 lbs now. Geoff is certain he's our heaviest kid at 1 year old but I'm pretty sure Brycen was just a bit heavier. Regardless he's come a long way from the 4lb baby he was at birth!

This and that

Just some random shots of the boys this spring!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Everyone! What a wonderful Easter weekend we had!

With the weather in Ontario being so amazing this Easter, we enjoyed our first ever Easter egg hunt outdoors at Grandma and Papa Ireland's on Good Friday. Usually we are battling muddy ground, snow piles and cold weather at Easter.
Brycen loved the egg hunt. Usually he follows behind Zack and gets the 'leftovers' but it was such a big area at the farm that he could go wherever he wanted and got lots of great treats.

My nephew Mac was part of the Easter egg hunt too and he was, by far, the cutest, most photogenic egg hunter I've ever seen!

Zack was the fastest egg hunter...and the had the most to show for it too!

Cameron didn't really hunt for any eggs but enjoyed hanging out with Papa and shake the eggs. He got so excited and was so cute to watch.

Cameron decorated his first Easter eggs with Edith, our exchange student. He really just wanted to eat the crayons though!!!

Zack was very excited about decorating eggs this year and told us how what colours to mix together to make which colours...such a smart boy...takes after his mom of course!!!

Brycen loved decorating eggs...such a little Picaso!

Let the hunt begin!

Cameron loved finding the big plastic eggs....okay let's be honest, he loved finding the candy ones too but I didn't let him have those after he snuck the first jelly bean and made a gooey mess of it!!!! The rest of his were plastic filled with Gerber puffs. He loves those too!!!

I LOVE the light in this picture... and the boy in it too!!!
